The inspiration for this project came from the drawing first.

 

On friends’ birthday, Tsern usually draws a birthday cake on the card and give it to friends. Until one day, Tsern was thinking it would be great if these cakes can be made to the real ones. Therefore, she found Claire who has the background in French Pastry to collaborate. In terms of designing a pastry, Claire needs some personal clues to move on the process. They found 12 friends according to their birth month which can represent the full year, and ask their help to answer the questionnaire. Tsern and Claire reinterpreted each person’s answer then create a unique pastry accordingly.

 

The concept of showing the recipe is to represent their ideas about each character through the ingredients, therefore the quantity and method are meant to leave out in order to differentiate from the traditional cooking recipe. In the end, they accomplished 12 pastries with its own characters.
